Good Stuff
First of all I want to object to the comment titled `How to be a Theif`

This Earlier comment suggests the book should be banned, and it will get you arrested if you follow it's instructions

The truth is in most cases, there is little cost benefit to go after everyone that bends the rules as long as they are not causing a service disruption or running up too much in tarrifs (which don't exist too much these days) Of course in come cases in America and Australia a few people will get sued as a token gesture to scare the masses into submission]

Networks ebook: Upgrading and Repairing Networks, Fourth Edition Cover

Though he didn't do the writing himself, Scott Mueller's involvement in Upgrading and Repairing Networks is evident in the thoroughness of the book's coverage and the quality with which documentation has been written and compiled

Like Mueller's highly respected books on personal computer hardware, this book treats its subject in great depth, acknowledging that information about older technologies is valuable to the significant numbers of people who still run those technologies

Pretty much every local area network (LAN) technology from the past 15 years--as well as the most popular internetworking technologies and the emerging wireless networking protocols--are documented here

Voice Over MPLS : Planning and Designing Networks
Networks ebook: Voice Over MPLS : Planning and Designing Networks Cover

MPLS (MultiProtocol Label Switching) is a controversial new protocol that vastly simplifies Internet traffic and effectively removes obstacles to Voice Over IP applications

Here is the first book to thoroughly explain and evaluate MPLS specifically for the voice markets

* Explains a potentially disruptive technology for telephony
* Shows providers how to protect their revenues during deployment
* Details key engineering problems such as classes of service, traffic engineering, overlays, and moreCarriers see MPLS as the way to deliver quality of service for voice over IP and over 80% of network traffic in North America is projected to be IP-based by the end of 2002

WAN Survival Guide: Strategies for VPNs and Multiservice Networks
Networks ebook: WAN Survival Guide: Strategies for VPNs and Multiservice Networks Cover

Ensure that your WAN can handle the latest technologies with this must-have strategy guide

If a Wide Area Network (WAN) isn't set up properly, it won't be able to meet the needs of the applications being used in the Local Area Network (LAN)

And with the emergence of new technologies such as VPNs, multi-service networks, and the mobility of corporate users, the costs involved with running a WAN have changed dramatically

Written by an expert on WAN design, this book provides a comprehensive strategy for choosing the best technologies available for your WAN

WDM Technologies: Optical Networks (Optics and Photonics Series)
Networks ebook: WDM Technologies: Optical Networks (Optics and Photonics Series) Cover

Internet information (which is doubling every six months) travels through optical fibers

Today, optical fibers are being installed where a single fiber has the ability to carry information as much as 200 times faster than was possible just five years ago

This revolutionary capability is being achieved with technology known as wavelength division multiplexing WDM)

Wireless Mesh Networking: Architectures, Protocols and Standards
Networks ebook: Wireless Mesh Networking: Architectures, Protocols and Standards Cover

A promising new technology, wireless mesh networks are playing an increasingly important role in the future generations of wireless mobile networks

Characterized by dynamic self-organization, self-configuration, and self-healing to enable quick deployment, easy maintenance, low cost, high scalability, and reliable services, this technology is becoming a vital mode complementary to the infrastructure-based wireless networks

Wireless Mesh Networking: Architectures, Protocols and Standards is the first book to provide engineers, students, faculties, researchers, and designers with a comprehensive technical guide covering introductory concepts

Wireless Sensor Networks: Architectures and Protocols
Networks ebook: Wireless Sensor Networks: Architectures and Protocols Cover

Because they provide practical machine-to-machine communication at a very low cost, the popularity of wireless sensor networks is expected to skyrocket in the next few years, duplicating the recent explosion of wireless LANs

Wireless Sensor Networks: Architectures and Protocols describes how to build these networks, from the layers of the communication protocol through the design of network nodes

This overview summarizes the multiple applications of wireless sensor networks, then discusses network device design and the requirements that foster the successful performance of these applications

Zabbix 1.8 Network Monitoring
Networks ebook: Zabbix 1.8 Network Monitoring Cover

Monitor your network hardware, servers, and web performance effectively and efficiently Start with the very basics of Zabbix, an enterprise-class open source network monitoring solution, and move up to more advanced tasks later Efficiently manage your hosts, users, and permissions Get alerts and react to changes in monitored parameters by sending out e-mails, SMSs, or even execute commands on remote machines In-depth coverage for both beginners and advanced users with plenty of practical, working examples and clear explanations

In Detail

Imagine you're celebrating the start of the weekend with Friday-night drinks with a few friends

And then suddenly your phone rings -- one of the servers you administer has gone down, and it needs to be back up before tomorrow morning

So you drag yourself back to the office, only to discover that some log files have been growing more than usual over the past few weeks and have filled up the hard drive

Zenoss Core Network and System Monitoring
Networks ebook: Zenoss Core Network and System Monitoring Cover

In Detail

For system administrators, network engineers, and security analysts, it is essential to keep a track of network traffic

At some point it will be necessary to read the network traffic directly instead of monitoring application level details

Network security audits, debug network configurations, and usage patterns analyzing can all require network traffic monitoring

Zero Configuration Networking: The Definitive Guide
Networks ebook: Zero Configuration Networking: The Definitive Guide Cover

It used to be that two laptops, sitting side by side, couldn't communicate with each other; they may as well have been a thousand miles apart

But that was then, before the advent of Zero Configuration Networking technology

This amazing cross-platform open source technology automatically connects electronic devices on a network, allowing them to interoperate seamlessly-without any user configuration
