How to Do Everything with Microsoft Office Live

User review Try a different one Because I was new to Microsoft Office Live, I bought this book, hoping it would help me. It did not. I was only looking for the basics. The book does not list the steps necessary to complete an action, is confusing, and rambles around without coming to the point. It could have been, and should have been, writen in 150 pages instead of the nearly 400 it used. I had read the help pages in the program's help sections and expected the book to expound upon them. With neary 400 pages, it definitely should have. Not only did it not do this, it did not even mirror the information given in the `help` sections of the program. Often times, I thought it was written by a Microsoft employee since it spent so much time talking about how much better the Microsoft Live program was than others of its kind. Maybe, if you are an advanced user, this book would work for you. But if you're a novice, I'd suggest you try another book. User review Very Useful Information for Beginners or Intermediate Users This book contains alot of good information about Microsoft Office Live. It explains the different Office Live account types as well as the features that are available for each one. This book also provides details about how to use each of the Office Live tools. The tone is light and the information is easy to understand. If you are looking for Office Live hacks, then this isn't the book for you. If you need to make an informed decision about the type of Office Live account to select or you need help setting up the account you already selected, this book can help. User review Excellent business-oriented introduction to Office Live Office Live is probably the most exciting new software product for small to medium-sized businesses in years. Microsoft has enabled users to create a fully functional, professional web presence for both internal users and customers for, well, free. The biggest problem with the software is that - like Excel and Access - it's so powerful that many users don't know where to start. Which is where this book fits in so well. Greg Holden has taken a firmly business-minded and results-oriented approach to the topic, and clearly demonstrates the title - `How to do Everything`. The biggest criticism is that it may not be in-depth enough for some users, but if you enjoy being shown the possibilities and working out some of the details for yourself, I can't recommend it enough. By the time you've finished reading this, you should be well positioned to get your business on the web in a relatively short period of time. And if you need more advanced coverage of specific topics, there are plenty of other books out there that can flesh out those in more detail. And let's not forget that this book is a steal at the price. Other books on Microsoft Office | |||||||||||
