Description

This classic book is a Must for every geek programmer, but sadly it hasn't been updated for today's practical compiler writing. The main omission is Object-Oriented programming, which was not mentioned at all in the 1988 edition. If you want to learn how to write a compiler, beg borrow or steal a copy of "Compiler Construction" by N.Wirth, which is now sadly out of print. I'm not sure there's anything more up-to-date that gives as good an insight. Alternatively, find a copy of an Oberon compiler or Component Pascal compiler online - the accompanying documentation is very helpful. |
