* According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, general networking/system administration jobs are expected to increase more than eighty percent by 2010 * This revision includes updates for the exam's new routing simulation, plus updated and more extensive information about WANs * In addition to the Dummies Test Engine, an exclusive, fully customizable test-prep software package containing hundreds of sample questions based on the tone and content of the actual exam, the accompanying CD-ROM contains the Boson Routing Simulator to prepare students for this newest feature of the exam * Author is the former director of a Cisco Regional Training Academy User review This book is out of date This book does NOT cover the current subject matter that's in the latest CCNA or CCENT exams. It is well written, and covers topics in a clearer language than many of the Cisco Press books. However,it is outdated, and covers topics no longer on the CCNA exam (Token ring, IPX). I'd encourage the Dummies people to get this otherwise useful book updated. User review Typical Dummies book I am a fan of the Dummies books. When I want a quick summary or easy introduction to a technology/industry/genre, the dummies books are usually one of the first tools I reach for. This is a good place to start preparing for the CCNA. It is obviously dated material and I would prefer a revised and refreshed version, but this got me back in the groove (been awhile since I played in the network realm) and prepared me for purchasing some of the Cisco Press books. If you need to get your feet wet in the CCNA world and want to keep the reading fairly light, then this is a great place to start. User review Great Referance Guide This book does a great job of reviewing what you should already know like the basics of networking and teaching you things you don't know like sub-netting. A great tool for any network professional. User review Plentiful errors Too many errors in the book, it can cause more frustration and confusion than it is worth. User review Easy to read and understand I found this book very helpful and easy to understand. Other books on Cisco Certification | |||||||||||
