Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Unleashed (R2 Edition) (Unleashed)
Google Search |
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Unleashed, 3rd Edition is the first book on the market to cover Windows Server 2003 R2. This latest edition will keep the text viable with the major `R2` update being released from Microsoft late in 2005. Many of the Windows Server 2003 titles have not been revised since release in 2003 even though Microsoft has released a service pack and now the R2 update.
This book will provide detailed guidance focused on the most commonly used yet most complicated planning, installation, migration, and problem solving topics that challenge IT professionals. This title goes far beyond the basic installation and setup information found in hundreds of other resources and focus on the less understood yet most important details for system configuration, tips, tricks, and techniques to successfully implement and administer a Windows networking system. User review Nice book It is not necessary to spend lot of words gloryfing and descirbing this book, just grab it, read it and enjoy! All you need to know about Windows Server 2003 you can find in this book. User review Windows 2003 server unexplained Included lots of buzzwords that microsoft likes to use. Mostly worthless. Windows uses plenty of tools under the hood to manage a server most of which remain unexplained. The book explains very little in terms of licensing installation, updating the system without using AD and simpler configurations. While the OS is partly to blame the book is not exactly a help in this scenario either. I've been burned by too many of these lightweight `technical` books from the big publishers. SAMS especially. This book explains lots of terms but then does very little in explaining practical system configuration in real terms. I get more from MS help. User review A reference for W2003 Server The book contains an excellent description of the Windows 2003 Server. It presentes principles and their implementation and thus constitutes a reference handbook for system administrator and technical architect. User review Excellent job! No problems. Book arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Considering this is a huge book, that is not a trivial matter. User review Outstanding! Best Windows 2003 Book on the Market!!! I've bought 4 other books on Windows 2003 to help me with our migration to Active Directory and have been disappointed with the real world experience in all of the other books. This was the first book that had tips and tricks based on real world guidance. I was amazed that the book covered Service Pack 1 being that SP1 just came out a couple months ago. Was VERY helpful as we struggled with our migration process over the past couple months, and after I bought this book last month, we were able to get a clear handle on our implementation of Windows 2003! Outstanding book, I highly recommend it!!! Other books on Windows Server 2003 | |||||||||||
