User review
Best book on the subject
He does an excellent job of discussing the practical applications of SSIS and getting into the deeper uses. As someone who used DTS heavily, I figured out SSIS as I went along but this book unlocked all that it could do for me.

I read a few other books on SSIS but they didn't take me anywhere I couldn't get on my own. This book doesn't just explain what, but why. Reading this book is like working with an SSIS mentor who will point out all of the little issues that are liable to arise in real-world situations. Invaluable.

User review
Disappointing
I needed to get up to speed with SSIS fast so I bought this book. The author seems intelligent enough and knowledgeable of the product (SSIS) but he just didn't provide the information in a succinct way for me. Way too much reading and not enough succinct examples. The book could have been one third of the pages.

Order 2 Copies Only Received One
I order two copies from this company and only have received one copy. I'm still waiting for the second copy. What's up?

User review
Not too good,,.
The author glosses over most everything.
It's as if he is in a rush to go somewhere else and the fact that he is trying to explain something many annoy or hinder him.
The ONLY thing I got from this book is that SSIS is now designed to NOT use staging tables, rather to do everything in memory in a stream.
OK - there's the book for you in one sentence. Other than that, he'll point out the obvious and avoid the real questions.
I really do not recommend this book.

I am learning tons!
Not sure why even one reviewer can rate this bad, this author is awesome. He is very encouraging, he had me drawn by his enthusiasm and love for SSIS. I am still making my way through the book, but wow, I am truly impressed, not only with the way the author elucidates the info, but by the power of SSIS.

Microsoft rocks,,,,,,
